Commencing operations in 1993, Mobitel was one of the foremost mobile service providers in Sri Lanka, beginning operations using first generation cellular technology. Currently Mobitel has a customer base of over 5 million Active connections.
Please don’t get any service from them ….. tey are real robbers and fake people….. I wasted my money…. pathetic company …..
worst sim ever . worst customer service .from yesterday I’m trying to reach your customer care service but nobody help me and solve my problem. what a worst customer service. i recharged 650 rupees and you guys debited it from my account but I didn’t get any recharged just my money wasted. dialog customer care service is better than yours . worst one ever you guys are making us tension .
Internet speed is very slow and very poor customer service. It is a company that is not able to provide any solution even if a complaint is sent. All work is done only for their benefit and cannot provide proper service to customers. Even if you pay for the services, you are not able to provide a good stable connection. A useless company. The maximum download speed of 4G+ is 400KB/s. Talking about upload speed is useless. When watching an online video, it loads about 10 out of 10 seconds. Not in a rural area but in an area close to major cities. Another begging company in Sri Lanka.
In Mobitel we can’t even recharge the amount we want, they’ve lots of plans for each amount and when we recharge an amount(in my case 180) such a package will be automatically activated. It’s not like we customers by heart all their package details. Okay, let’s forget this. But following that when I contacted their customer service and requested to deactivate the auto-activated package the call center agent told me as the auto-activated package expires after 7 days, they’ll refund me after 7 days, ONLY if I hadn’t used the package for those 7 days. The agent told me not to turn on data for 7 days! Really??? What do they take us for?
I clearly said that was not possible, I can’t possibly refrain from turning on data for 7 days(I’m an IT professional), then the agent told me then there was nothing they can do and will not refund. Is this the so called “We care always?”

Worse data coverage in Katunayaka. Cannot atleast send a whatsapp message despite being in such a densely populated area. Hope this case gets solved, else gonna switch to another service provider !!
I am a platinum member of Mobitel. Few days before I had a issue with my mobile data. Suddenly data was stucked. Btw I called customer care like by 12 am. But I lodge a complaint. Day after that day they called me back and said they sorted the issue with APN. I thought of commenting on their great customer service. Bcs I never they they will call back. Great service. Keep it up !!!!

Ever since the merger with SLT, I cant work from home. The mornings are just barely enough, but after 6pm I cant even join a zoom meeting. I have 140GB work from home package, The speeds have internet speed has slowed down to what can only be described as a trickle and to have this kind of internet in 2022 is a joke! I have complained multiple times (Whenever they actually answer the hotline), had one call back from mobitel but absolutely NO IMPROVEMENT AT ALL!! I am very disappointed to say the least and will be changing my provider very soon.
My advice to anyone considering mobitel broad band :DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!!

Worst connection I’ve ever had. Probably now worse than dialog. Extremely slow 4G connection it’s not even 3G fast at peak times(around 50 kbps)
This is the worst, worst , worst damn connection I’ve ever came across. SLTMOBITEL pre-paid & postpaid connection sucks. I hate writing comments in such way . I got a damn postpaid connection. Started from about 2650/- for the first month & within 3 months increased up to about 11,500. 00. I used the data in same way from the day I started using data. After cancelling that damn thing & got the prepaid. Within 3 days it says no service. When visited the branch all those stupid staff try to promote postpaid packages instead of sorting out the issue . Thr hotline service sucks than anything else. DAMN SLT MOBITEL. YOU PEOPLE JUST STOP DOING THIS BUSINESS WITHOUT CHEATING ON PEOPLE . NO SERVICE, NO SIGNAL , NO CUSTOMER SERVICE & NO USE.
The worst worst network in sri lanka. There are stupid plans which differs from 1 rupee and when recharged those plans get activated and we will have to stay for another 3 4 days to get the money back. They cut down the credits in milli seconds but we’ll have to wait for days to get our money back.

“We care Always” – What a funny tag line. I had to deactivate a package 5 times, each time there customer service said its done, but next reload it’s auto activated. When the Last time I called them and asked how it could happen, They said they don’t no about that. Finally I request to complain about this issue and I got the answer, That they can’t put a complain at the moment. And also she hang the phone without saying any reason for that. This is really disgusting customer service I ever had. Truly not recommend to any one to use this network for any purpose.

Well I have been using Mobitel since 2018.It’s a good ISP with many new features over the years.Connections are perfect.But I’ve seen Mobitel consumes my anytime data uselessly when I use Work and Learn package.Finally my Zoom package is still remaining but Anytime data has vanished.Super annoyed.
They have a good speed comparing with other isp’s.(from my experience) Data plans are also good value for money. This can be different from another person’s perspective. So go on and read other comments too.
What I had to see here was the lack of a technical assistant at their customer service centers

You stupid MOBITEL are robbing my money. I activated work & learn planning for two kids education purpose. They are using TEAMS and ZOOM. But you stupid are charging money from ANY TIME DATA Bundle. 100% of WORK & LEARN data is remaining after one month time. I logged so many compaints but nothing happens. These people are robbing others money in day light. CURSE YOU!!!
I am also face same kind of incident and I called so many times customer care center but they fall to recover this issue. My daughters are only using soom,teem application but it charged from my any time data. Therefore I have to get additional anytime data packages because of this. Don’t use Mobitel cim for internet browsing. Please choose alternative service provider.
