I am a medical doctor. I have a bad experience with DHL.I do not hesitate to say that this company is completely cheating people.I sent parcels to UK (birthday gift once & foods another time) and this company cheated us.We paid whole amount here (to Panadura DHL).But they charged full amount each time from the recipient as well.Imagine how you feel when you send a parcel (specially a birthday gift) after full payment to a new friend from abroad and these cheaters charge from that person.It’s really embarrassing.This company didn’t inform us about charges from there.I knew it many months later.
These type of incidents should bring out in public to make people aware.NEVER GET TRAPPED.
I was receiving a gift, baby cloths for my daughter from her aunt in abroad. Package value in LKR is 3k on the CUSDEC. However I have asked to pay custom invoice of LKR4.5k. First of all personal and gift items < LKR15k is duty exempted and < LKR 10 VAT exempted. However I got so many charges to pay for a small package like this. How do DHL clearance department operates? Have you not noticed this rule instead of telling me every item is taxed by customs? You are supposed to know correct cost calculations to help the customer.I have spoken to several of your staff in the clearance division but they say they don't know it. So who can advise then?
I got CID, Cess tax, VAT, documentation chgs, computer fees, Custom overtime (ridiculous!!) , VAT on doc fees.
Also you have used wrong address to courier my documents which delayed this for 4 days. I have many calls to make sure it's corrected.
That was a terribly service..I thought better than EMS and unfortunately bad service I ever seen.I’ve sended a urgent little document from japan.it was clearly been arrived to Sri Lanka..
The problem is Sri Lankan bad staff..
Anyway again doesn’t want to use this service.
I had very efficient service with dhl srilanka once when i sent a baggage but unfortunately when i sent the second baggage on the same service they took very long time for custom clearance.it took one month to deliver from one country to srilanka.our bag was damaged when recieved and they costed unusual taxes from customs.maybe its a problem with srilankan customs but i believe dhl should take some responsibility while delivery

Very Good Service. I had a few items delivered and sent using them. Has been top notch. prices have increased due to COVID situation, the service has been excellent and can rely on them on with the deadlines etc. If you need something delivered – you can trust these guys!
